Seven Pounds

Oh My Goodness!! Have you seen Will Smith's new movie Seven Pounds? Eric has been trying to get me to watch it with him for about a week now...the first time we tried I fell asleep about 15 minutes into it, the second time I think I fell asleep again, the third attempt, I ended up getting a call and a few texts and by the time I quit with the phone Poor Eric had gone to bed. Tonight he said, "I really want to watch this movie with you." So I sat down, thinking ok let's get this over with so we can move on. Oh My Goodness!! I cried so hard. I mean blubbering, snotty, ridiculous, can't catch my breathe crying (in fact when I went to brush my teeth just now I had little pieces of tissue on my eye lids) and Eric held my hand so tightly and kept saying,"I love you." I have lots a thoughts on this movie, many things I could share, but I won't in case some of you haven't seen it. So if you need a good gut wrenching, heart pounding, overly emotional, tear jerker then go see it or as we did download it from Graboid. WOW!! It was good but as I told Eric I would never be able to sit through that again!!!!
Bravo Will!!

Tina's Dog and the WhoMan Bone

My Blog friend, Tina has 2 large dogs named T-Bone and Pork Chop. For Christmas they received Very large chew bones. I was looking at her blog today and got up to see whose hair had just been cut and was now laying on the floor (it was Landon's). When all of a sudden, Landon and Ella started screaming and crying, saying something about a big black dog and a who-man arm...Come to find I had left Tina's blog on the picture of her dog with the big bone in his mouth! Ha ha They thought it was a human arm! It took me a few minutes to calm them down and convince them that the bone was NOT a Human arm bone!! Ella said through tears, "I know it is a who-man arm. I can see these (as she points at her own fingers). I realize this shouldn't be this funny and I should be ashamed of myself, cracking up at my poor babies expense, but I still get giggle every time I think of them freaking out over this very innocent picture of a Dog and his Chew Bone!!!

Update: As I read this to Eric. Ella screams from the other side of the room "IT IS A WHOMAN ARM!!" We giggled. She got mad and started saying "I know it is a WHOMAN Arm, I can see the Sangers!!" (her way of saying Fingers). Now, she is just singing over and over..."WhoMan Arm, WhoMan Arm!" She is silly!!!

Hannah's 1st Challenge

Update: Hey Guys!! I am Sooo Sorry I accidentally made my font in Wing Dings and didn't realize it until my sister MaryJane told me. I guess I have been away from my blog way too long!! I must need more blog time!!

My daughter Hannah turned 12 on the 5th of December and instead of feeling she was old enough for a silly IPOD or cell phone (I won't post my thoughts on 12 year olds having these devices as not to offend), she asked if she was old enough to start doing a few of the Stamped Card Challenges I do. Yesterday, we picked one out (one of my favs Color Throwdown), gathered our supplies and got to work. A little later, she was finishing her card and I was still trying to decide what design to do. I never did finish mine last night, but she did!!! I am so proud of my sweet Hannah!!!! She did this completely by herself!!!

Christmas Orders

I thought I'd let you all see some the Christmas orders I sent out this year!!!!!

I'm BACK!!!!!!

Whew~!! Christmas is OVER!! I have to admit I am relieved!! I am so so Thankful for ALL the Christmas Orders I received, but I am very tired from 2 1/2 months of painting. The bad thing about this time of year is that I am always TOO busy for my little ones. It is shameful, but at least I don't have to work out of the home and this is the only time of the year they don't have my undivided attention!!!! This season I had to juggle...Taking Orders, Painting Orders, Getting Sick, Thanksgiving, Painting Orders, Ella's Birthday, Hannah's Birthday, Painting Orders, Jus' Birthday, Painting Orders, One Rotten Apple Customer (yes, just one), Christmas, not to mention teaching 2 Art Classes every Thursday at Co-Op AND 2 Volleyball Practices a week, 1 Game a week and a Tournament in what I call an Ice Storm. One thing I learned this season is to be prepared for next and to have the word "NO" on the tip of my tongue!!

I haven't been able to give my attention to family and festivities for the past 3 Christmases. In 2005 I managed to throw a little something together in the way of decorations, Landon was 2, Ella was 1, they didn't know the difference and Hannah was so understanding. By 2006, By LoRi Designs had (even though I had expected the hoopla to last only the first Christmas) grown ridiculously and I was by no means prepared for what God had in store for us, therefore I never managed to find even a moment to put up a tree or get any gifts, luckily Landon and Ella were still too little to care and as always Hannah was so supportive. Christmas 2007, I vowed to not to get too busy and well God had other plans that was my biggest year yet. I did get up a tree and lights, but that may have been about it. I was nos able to get by this year, Landon is 5 1/2 and KNOWS that Christmas means snow and a Christmas Tree, so after our First Snow, he let me know that "It had snowed and that means Christmas was here and now you HAVE to help me fix a tree!!!" He reminded me day and night for several weeks. So about a week before Christmas, late one night Landon got his tree!!!! Even though I was rushed and felt I was wasting valuable painting time, I am so glad he was persistent (I guess he is like his Daddy that way...Eric asked me out from January til Sept. of one year until I finally said yes to "ONE FRIENDLY DATE"!!! And here we are married with oodles of babies!! Well that is another story for another day!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge 22

I am Recycling this card I made it in August and I am now using on this
Color Throwdown Challenge!!

Hannah is 12!!!

OMGoodness! I am the Mommy of a 12 year old!

Hannah's birthday was yesterday December the 5th! I didn't get a chance to post because she kept me busy all day long!! First, I woke up and worked her childcare position for her at M.O.P.S. Came home and we did Christmas Crafts (she loves everything crafty, especially Stampin' Up!!!) and ate chocolate covered donuts and Thin crust Pizza. She then called and invited my Mom and Dad over and we put together our very first Gingerbread House!! This was SOOOO much fun and the kids loved it!! Played a few games and then she went to see my niece's choir group sing in our town square in celebration of Welcoming in Christmas by lighting the Huge Christmas tree they have each year right in the middle of downtown.

When she got home, we made dinner and cookies!! Then a little later, our friends Mark and Bekki came over with gifts for Hannah and Ella!! Yippee!! The girls loved their gifts!
By then I thought it was bedtime, but No No no Hannah decided it was time for a haircut or at least a trim, so being the good Mommy I am, after her shower I cut and blow dried her beautiful red hair!! We then had a Family BiRthday Pray, all of us even the little kids saying a pray for Hannah and her next year. Then we all said nice things about her and talked about how Thankful we are for her. She is so special!! We topped it all off with one BIG Family huge!!
Happy Birthday My Precious BabyGirl!!
I Love you very much!!

A Quick Post

I am posting a quickie...
1. Because it's been way too long
2. I need to before everyone stops coming to my blog
3. I want to say Hi to you all and let you know how life at the Boyd Homestead has been lately

Well, first of all I was in the bed for 4 1/2 LONG days sicker than I have been in quite some time.
As soon as I got back on my feet, It was Thanksgiving and time to travel a little over 2 hours to visit with Eric's family. We had a GREAT time. It was so nice to see everyone. Eric has an awesome family. All 5 kids behaved very well! I was super proud of them. Going anywhere with 5 little ones will wear you out, so by that evening I wasn't feeling so great again! :(

Below is a picture of the kids and their VERY loved Aunt Sue (Eric's sister) and CRAZY for Uncle Charlie a.k.a Papaw Charlie, Landon has called him this since he was little. It stuck!! We love you guys!!

Friday, Worked on Christmas orders for By LORI Designs!! Getting sick and then Thanksgiving has really slowed me down. I praise God for these orders, although I have to say I AM EXHAUSTED!! I am ready to get these out and forget about them.
To get back to normal life!! :)
Oh yeah, remember I also Homeschool Hannah, Landon and Ella!!

Saturday, the kids and I (yes, I braved this day on my own, Eric had to work) went to my sister and her husband's home in Glasgow, Ky for the Tompkins Thanksgiving! I spent the whole day with my family... pure Heaven! We had a blast singing karaoke, doing Crafts and eating lots of fab-u-lo-so food!! Yum Yum!!
Oh BTW, I made my first pie (well actually apple strudel thingy, but it was on a pie crust in a pie dish) and it was a HIT! Yippee! Oh we have a new tradition my sister MaryJane made up...Pajama Thanksgiving!! Yep, we all wore our PJs it was fun, comfortable and unique just like us!! :) We were so busy having fun, I forgot to take pictures! We didn't get home until 12 pm!

Sunday, I worked on Christmas Orders for By LORI Designs. Later, I met my friends Jenn and Bekki at Cracker Barrel for an hour and a half catch up session and dinner. We have all been so busy. We haven't seen one another in what feels like FOREVER!!
Then, later back to painting orders!

Monday, I worked on Christmas orders!!! And schooled the kids!!

Tuesday, Christmas orders, then went to Hannah's Volleyball game!! They WON!! Yippee!!

Now today, CHRISTMAS ORDERS and Homeschool!! Now you can all see why I don't have time to blog lately!! I love and miss you all!! I will be back as soon as all my Christmas orders are OUT for delivery!!
Lord, Please continue to help me get it ALL done! And please let my customers be patient and gracious!! :)
